Cherry Pie Bars with Sweet Glaze Drizzle are dessert bars filled with cherry pie filling and topped with a powdered sugar glaze.
This delicious recipe came from a friend I worked with way back in the 1990's. I love pie and I love bars because they are an easy recipe to make and trust me, this is the perfect combination of both. The base and top is like a sugar cookie with the cherry pie filling in between and topped with powdered sugar glaze. These are pretty, colorful bars that are perfect for the holidays!

Tips for Making Cherry Pie Bars with Sweet Glaze Drizzle
This recipe calls for a jelly roll pan and you will definitely need this 10x15x1 inch pan and it will be full!
I used one 21-ounce canned cherry pie filling or use your homemade cherry pie filling made with fresh cherries
If cherry filling is not your favorite, try using apple, peach or your favorite pie filling.

How to Make Cherry Pie Bars with Sweet Glaze Drizzle
Once you have the base made and in the pan, you will have finished bars in less than an hour!
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a 10x15x1-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar with a hand mixer until it has a light, crumbly look. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Add vanilla and beat well.
Butter and sugar creamed together. Eggs added to butter and sugar mixture.
Step 2: Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing as you add.
Step 3: Spread 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the pan. Top with sweet cherry pie filling.
Step 4: Drop remaining batter by tablespoonfuls over the filling. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Step 5: In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract and enough milk to reach desired consistency; drizzle over top.
How To Store Cherry Pie bars with Sweet Glaze Drizzle
Once the bars have been baked, let the cherry bars cool completely. Once cool, you may cover the pan with plastic wrap or aluminum foil or store the easy cherry pie bars in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days.
You can also freeze the cherry pie bars. Again, let the bars cool completely before freezing. Cut the bars to your desired size. Layer the bars with parchment paper between layers and store them in a freezer bag for up to three months. Remember to date your bag before freezing!
Cut into individual bars and serve! These bars have an amazing cherry flavor that everyone will love!
