Easy Rhodes Rolls Monkey Bread
This Easy Rhodes Rolls Monkey Bread recipe combines soft bread dough rolls, a sweet brown sugar and cinnamon mixture, and buttery goodness. Baked in a Bundt pan until golden brown, it's a delicious pull-apart breakfast treat perfect for Christmas morning or quiet weekends with the family!

This pull-apart bread recipe is a staple at our house on Christmas morning every year. If these aren't on the table, our adult children are quick to ask why and what happened! Needless to say, it's rare that we skip making them. That buttery brown sugar mixture poured over the soft rolls is just too good to pass up. If you haven't made these yet, add them to your list because they are worth every bite!
The first time we had homemade Monkey Bread was from our next-door neighbor at our first home, early in our marriage. After the first bite, I knew I had to have the recipe. That was almost 30 years ago, and we've been making it ever since. You might notice I've said "we" quite a bit, and that's because my husband is typically the baker of Monkey Bread in our house. He's a lover of sweet bread and took this recipe on!

Tips for Making Rhodes Rolls Monkey Bread
Use Rhodes dinner rolls: Frozen rolls make this recipe easy and convenient. You can find them in the freezer section of your grocery store. Rhodes rolls are my favorite for this recipe because they make a soft, fluffy pull-apart bread.
Give the dough time to rise: Allow enough time for the frozen rolls to thaw and rise. Depending on the temperature of your kitchen, this can take 3-5 hours or longer. A warm place helps the dough rise, but you don't want it getting too warm.
Grease your pan well: Cooking spray is your friend here! Make sure you coat the entire inside of your greased Bundt pan, including the center and top of the pan. This helps prevent the sticky bread from sticking and makes it easier to turn out onto a serving platter.
Watch the baking time: You want the monkey bread to be golden brown and cooked through. Baking times can vary depending on your oven and the type of pan you use. If the top is browning too quickly, loosely cover it with aluminum foil.
Let it rest before serving: Give the monkey bread a little time to cool before turning it out onto a serving platter. Be careful because the caramel mixture will be very hot

How to Make Easy Rhodes Rolls Monkey Bread Recipe
Step 1: Remove 15 frozen rolls and place them in a 9x13-inch baking pan coated with non-stick cooking spray. Lightly spray the tops of the rolls, then cover with plastic wrap. You can also spray the plastic wrap to prevent it from sticking as the dough rises. Let the rolls thaw and rise at room temperature for 3-5 hours, or until doubled in size.
Above Left: Frozen rolls ready for thawing. Above Right: rolls thawed to room temperature.
Step 2: Preheat oven to 350°F and generously grease a bundt pan and set aside. In a medium sauce pan, melt 1 cup butter, 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup of brown sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon and mix well until the mixture is fully combined and the sugars are dissolved. Pour the mixture into the prepared bundt pan.

Step 3: Cut each roll in quarters or into bite-sized pieces of dough. Put each piece of dough into the bundt pan, ensuring all pieces are evenly coated. Use a spatula to lift and coat the pieces as more are added to the pan. Once all pieces have been added, cover the bundt pan with plastic wrap and allow rolls to rest for 15 minutes.
Step 4: Cover the bundt pan with aluminum foil and bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Remove aluminum foil and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature is 200-205°F.
Step 5: Once baked, let the monkey bread cool for 5 minutes. Carefully turn the Bundt pan upside down onto a serving plate. The butter and sugar mixture will still be hot, so use caution. Don't wait too long to remove the monkey bread, or the sticky caramel mixture may cause it to stick to the pan.

How to Store Monkey Bread
Monkey bread is definitely best served warm, when the rolls are soft and the buttery brown sugar sauce is still gooey. If you have leftovers, allow the monkey bread to cool completely. Store at room temperature for 2 days in an airtight container or cover it tightly with plastic wrap. It warms up well in the microwave the next morning!
For longer storage, refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 5 days. When you're ready to enjoy it again, warm individual portions in the microwave for about 15-30 seconds, or until heated through.

Whether you're making this easy Monkey Bread recipe for Christmas morning, a holiday brunch, or just because you're craving something sweet, this gooey treat is always a good idea! It's an easy recipe that doesn't require homemade dough, and the combination of soft rolls, cinnamon sugar, and gooey caramel sauce is hard to beat.
I love that a recipe we discovered almost 30 years ago has become one of our family's Christmas traditions. This best part is that our kids make it at their own homes, which makes my heart happy! It's Forkin' Good!
