These Chocolate and M&M Pretzel Treats have become part of our holiday rhythm, and I love how a just three ingredients turns into the cutest little Christmas pretzels. A baking sheet lined with parchment paper, a bunch of pretzels, some melted almond bark and holiday M&M's are all it takes to fill the kitchen with that unmistakable holiday energy. I like to use both chocolate almond bark and white almond bark to mix things up and make the treats feel extra festive.
This recipe comes from my sweet mother-in-law. Before I met her, I had never tried a chocolate-covered pretzel. I was just 17 years old and had little experience in life, but I knew instantly that this was one of the best treats. I started making them with her and eventually began making them in my own home after marrying her son. Use melted chocolate almond bark or white almond bark (or both, like me) depending on the flavor and look you want.
If you enjoy caramel, you can add a thin drizzle of caramel over the top for extra richness.
Choose the seasonal M&M's or any candy coated chocolate to match your theme. Holiday mixes add instant color for Christmas pretzels.
Add Christmas sprinkles, in addition to the M&M, while the chocolate is still warm for a bright pop of texture.

How to Make Chocolate and M&M Pretzel Treats
Step 1: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper to make cleanup easy and prevent the treats from sticking. Arrange Tiny Twist Pretzels on the sheet, making sure none are broken, with the salted side facing up.
Step 2: Melt 1 pound of chocolate almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl using one-minute increments, stirring after each interval until smooth and creamy. To keep the chocolate warm, place the bowl on a hot pad. If the chocolate begins to harden as you work, simply reheat it using the same method. The photo below shows a small batch made.
Step 3: Spoon the melted chocolate into the center of each pretzel, being careful not to overflow. While the chocolate is still warm, place one holiday M&M on top of each pretzel. Let the chocolate set completely, about 10 minutes, before moving. For extra festive color, sprinkle holiday sprinkles over the chocolate while it is still soft.

How to Store Chocolate and M&M Pretzel Treats
Chocolate and M&M Pretzel Treats should be stored in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay fresh for up to one week. If you want to keep them longer, you can layer them between sheets of parchment paper and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
