How to Make Spicy Spaghetti Pie
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or dutch oven with non-stick cooking spray or a little olive oil and set aside. Finely chop one small green pepper and mince one jalapeño pepper, then set them both aside.
Step 2: In a large pot, cook the spaghetti according to the package directions over medium heat (a low simmer). While the pasta cooks, heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Combine ground beef, Italian sausage, green pepper, jalapeño, and garlic. Cook until the meat is browned and fully cooked, then drain any excess fat. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper, cooking for another 3 minutes. Pour in the tomato sauce, stir well, and simmer for 2 minutes.

Step 3: Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain it and transfer it to a large bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, then pour over the spaghetti, tossing to coat evenly. Spread the spaghetti mixture into the prepared baking dish, followed by an even layer of the meat mixture. Sprinkle Monterrey Jack and cheddar cheese generously over the top.

How to Store Spicy Spaghetti Pie
To store the whole thing properly, let the Spicy Spaghetti Pie cool completely before wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. If refrigerating, it will stay fresh for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze the whole thing for up to 3 months, then reheat in the oven until warmed through and bubbly. This is one of those original recipes that tastes just as delicious the next day!
This spaghetti casserole is a perfect balance of hearty, spicy, and cheesy. The Italian sausage and ground beef add rich protein, while the jalapeño pepper and chili powder bring just the right amount of heat. The creamy combination of milk, egg, and melted cheeses ties it all together. Don’t forget the step to remove excess grease—it makes the dish lighter and lets the flavors shine. The best part? It’s easy to make and ideal for busy weeknights or gatherings. Pair it with a fresh salad and garlic bread for a meal that’s sure to be remembered.
This dish combines some of my favorite things—spice, cheese, and hearty comfort food—all in one delicious bite! It is Forkin' Good!
