Creamy ice cream sandwiches layered with chocolate sauce and caramel sauce make this easy no-bake dessert completely irresistible! The perfect frozen treat for summer parties!

If you’re looking for an easy dessert that disappears fast at every gathering, this Ice Cream Sandwich Cake is always a winner. I have had this recipe for more than 20 years and have shared it at family gatherings and potlucks! It is so easy to make because you are simply layering the ingredients in a 9x13-inch pan! It's full of ice cream sandwiches, hot fudge sauce, caramel sauce, cool whip, then topped with crushed Heath Bars. It's been a favorite for a long time because it takes just minutes to assemble and tastes like something from an ice cream shop.
What You Need
Ice cream sandwiches
Hot fudge sauce
Caramel sauce
Cool whip, thawed
Crushed Heath Candy Bars
Tips for Making Ice Cream Sandwich Cake
Let the hot fudge sauce warm slightly so it spreads easily.
Use plastic wrap to help lift the cake neatly from the pan before slicing.
A 9-inch pan works perfectly, but you can also use a casserole dish for larger crowds.
Freeze overnight for cleaner slices and better texture.
Add crushed candy bars between layers for extra crunch and flavor.

How to Make Ice Cream Sandwich Cake
Step 1: Heat the hot fudge in the microwave for 30 seconds. Unwrap ice cream sandwiches, unwrapping only what you need for one layer, keeping extras in the freezer. Â
Step 2: Arrange a layer of ice cream sandwiches across the bottom of the pan (9-10 ice cream sandwiches, depending on size). Top with 1 - 8 ounce carton of Cool Whip. Drizzle hot fudge and caramel sauce over the Cool Whip (measure with your heart)!Â

Step 3: Repeat the layers until the pan is full - ice cream sandwiches, Cool Whip, hot fudge and caramel. Top with crushed Heath Bars! Â

Step 4: Put the dessert in the freezer for about one hour before covering to avoid the toppings sticking to the aluminum foil. After one hour, cover and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.Â
How to Store Ice Cream Sandwich Cake
Store this delicious cake in the freezer unless serving. Keep the cake tightly covered to prevent freezer burn.
What I love about this dessert is there is no baking required, it's the perfect make-ahead dessert, it's easy to customize with candy bars and toppings, and only a few are ingredients needed. It is easy to customize with different ice cream sandwich flavors, adding different flavors of sauce, or top with chopped Reese’s, Snickers or crushed Oreos.Â
