How to Make Chocolate Marshmallow Brownies

These fudgy brownies full of gooey goodness comes together quickly using simple ingredients and will be ready to eat in about an hour!

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare an 8x8 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper. In a medium pan, melt butter and chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until creamy. You may also melt in the microwave in a large microwave-safe bowl, heating at 30 second intervals and stirring between each heating until creamy.  Blend in sugar and vanilla and combine. Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat well with a wooden spoon or hand mixer after adding each egg. Stir in the dry ingredients (flour and salt) and combine.  Add walnuts (optional) and mix until fully combined. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared 8x8 inch baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Step 2: When the brownies are done, immediately add a layer of marshmallows on top of the brownies. Put the brownies back in the oven for 3-5 minutes and allow the marshmallows to brown and soften. Remove from oven and move to a wire rack to cool.

Step 3: While the brownies are baking, mix up the frosting. In a small saucepan, add the heavy whipping cream and 1/2 cup chocolate chips and cook on low heat until the chocolate chips have melted and you have a creamy consistency. Remove from the heat and add in the powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of butter (room temperature) to the melted chocolate and mix well. To thin out the glaze, you may add more whipping cream. The glaze may be spread across the top of the gooey marshmallow layer or drizzle over the top, as shown in the photo.
