This great recipe came from my "sister from another mister" who shares all of her delicious recipes with me and trust me, you need to add this one to your list of favorites! These easy Banana Bars are full of banana flavor and the cream cheese frosting takes them to a whole new delicious level! Banana Bars is an easy dessert made with simple ingredients you likely have in your pantry. They are perfect for potlucks, holidays, game day tailgates or just because you have ripe bananas to use up!
What You Need:
Bars
White Sugar
Butter, softened
Large Eggs, room temperature
Over-Ripe Bananas
Sour Cream
All Purpose Flour
Baking Powder
Baking Soda
Vanilla Extract
Frosting
Cream Cheese
Butter, softened

Be sure to use over-ripe bananas because they will provide the best banana flavor!
If you like a little chocolate in your Banana Bars, add one cup of mini chocolate chips.

How to Make Banana Bars
A few easy steps and you will be enjoying these delicious Banana Bars!
Step 1: Heat oven to 350°F and prepare a 10x15x1-inch jelly roll pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside. In a large bowl add all dry ingredients - flour, baking powder, and baking soda - mix and set aside. In a medium bowl, mash the ripe bananas and set aside.
Step 2: In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter and sugar. Add the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla and mix until well combined. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet mixture until all ingredients are fully combined. Finally, add the mashed bananas and mix just until combined, do not over mix.
Step 3: Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Move the bars to a wire rack and allow the bars to cool completely before frosting.
Step 4: To make the frosting, in a medium bowl mix cream cheese, softened butter and vanilla with an hand mixer until it is light and fluffy. Slowly add the powered sugar and mix well. The frosting will be firm and will set up well. Once the bars have cooled, frost bars, cut, and enjoy!

How to Store Banana Bars
Store the Banana Bars in a single layer in an airtight container or on a plate wrapped with plastic wrap. Place in a cool and dry location for up to 3 days or in your refrigerator for up to 5 days.
