Easy Apple Sheet Bars with Powdered Sugar Glaze

If you are a fan of fall baking and apple desserts, these Easy Apple Sheet Bars has a flaky crust with a fresh apple filling that is infused with cinnamon sugar then topped with a powdered sugar glaze. This is a fabulous dessert for Fall apple season or any time of the year!

This recipe came from my mom's best friend, a recipe she has been making for many years and is a family favorite! I was so honored that she allowed me to share this with you. The taste of Apple Sheet Bars is very similar to an apple pie, but you get a lot more so it's great for sharing at a family or work event!


What You Need

  • Unsalted Butter or Crisco

  • All Purpose Flour

  • Salt

  • Granulated Sugar

  • Egg Yolk, room temperature

  • Milk

  • Apples, chopped

  • Corn Flakes

  • Cinnamon

  • Powdered Sugar

  • Milk








Tips for Making Easy Apple Sheet Bars with Powdered Sugar Glaze

  • Fresh, crunchy apples, like Granny Smith type of apples that are tart are the best apples for this recipe

  • Honey Crisp or Pink Lady kind of apples that is a firm-fleshed apple are also good in this recipe

  • A caramel sauce or salted caramel sauce may replace the powdered sugar glaze. You may find caramel sauce in the baking section or near the ice cream at your grocery store

How To Make Easy Apple Sheet Bars with Powdered Sugar Glaze

Once you have the fresh apples peeled and sliced, the recipe comes together easily with simple ingredients you likely have at home! This is a great recipe for the apple picking in the Fall!


Step 1: Heat oven to 400°F and prepare a 11x15 inch pan (jelly roll pan) with nonstick cooking spray or butter. Peel and chop apples. In a large bowl, combine apples with sugar, crushed Corn Flakes, and cinnamon. Combine until the apples are well covered. Set aside.

Step 2: For the crust, mix together the butter, flour, salt, sugar and egg yolk/milk mixture. Mix until fully combined. Divide the crust in half. Roll out each half of the crust on a flour dusted surface to slightly larger than the size of your 11x15 inch jelly roll pan to allow for the pinching of the crust together.

Step 3: The next step is to carefully move the pie crust to the prepared pan. Top the crust with the apple mixture. Top the apple mixture with the other half of the crust. Using a knife, make slices on the top crust. Pinch sides together. Beat one egg and spread on top of the crust.

Step 4: Bake at 400°F with a cooking time 40 minutes. While the Easy Apple Sheet Cake is baking, in a medium bowl, mix together the powdered sugar with milk and stir well. Remove the Apple Sheet Cake from the oven and place on a wire rack for cooling. Drizzle the glaze over the top of the baked Easy Apple Sheet Cake while it is still warm!

How To Store Easy Apple Sheet Bars with Frosting

Once the Easy Apple Sheet Bars are completely cool, cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and it will keep at room temperate for 2-3 days. You may also store in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
